3 Days LAKE MBURO

Lake Mburo conservation area is Uganda's smallest savannah national park and nearest from Kampala located West of the country. Its blend of savannah woodland vegetation, Metamorphic rocks and swamps provide shelter to over 300 bird species, Crocodiles, 68 mammal species such as Hippos, the shy gigantic eland, Topi, Sitatunga reed buck, Zebra, Oribi, Leopard, hyena and others. This is the only park where you can find Impalas in Uganda though encroachment on the park in the past saw much of its wildlife eliminated. Nature walks, Camping, Bird watching, Horseback safaris, Fishing, Boat cruises and Wildlife viewing drives are some of the activities done here.


Itinerary

Day 1:

Kampala - Lake Mburo

Begin your safari experience with our driver guide driving west to Lake Mburo the smallest savannah park and only home to Impalas in Uganda. Stop at` the equator via Masaka for a cup of coffee, souvenirs and photo shoot. Continue to the park with en route game viewing. Check in at hotel and have lunch. Later afternoon go for a game drive in search of wildlife. Overnight and dinner at either Arcadia cottages/ Mburo Safari Lodge, Mihingo lodge, Kimbla Mantana, Rwonyo Rest camp.

Day 2:

Lake Mburo

Today we go for an early morning Nature walk to explore the park sighting animals like the shy gigantic Eland, Topi, Bushbuck, Sitatunga Reedbuck, Zebras, Impalas, solitary forest Buffalo, at times hyena hunting. Encounter bird species like black bellied bustard, African jacana, coocou shrike, plovers, lapwings and more. Return to the Lodge for breakfast and relaxation. Afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the lake with a spectacular view blended with Hippos, Crocodiles and various wetland bird species. Overnight and dinner at reserved accommodation.  

Day 3:

Lake Mburo – Kampala

After a night well spent and a hearty morning breakfast, transfer back to Kampala with en route lunch and a visit at the Igongo cultural Museum. Proceed arriving early afternoon for a visit to Uganda museum, craft center and if time allows visit Ndere center before your airport transfer.
